Vax was founded in 1977 by Alan Brazier, in his home town of Droitwich, Worcestershire. A carpet cleaner by trade, Alan’s first vacuum design was developed into the famous Vax ‘orange tub’: The Vax 101 - a truly innovative product, which became the best-selling vacuum cleaner in the UK in less than 8 years.

By 1995 you could buy a Vax in nearly 50 different countries worldwide. In 1999 Vax became part of the TTI group, a global market and innovation leader. TTI and its resources helped Vax to rapidly extend its scope and development prowess. While production moved overseas, Vax's design and engineering team remained in the Midlands, developing new technologies and making continual improvements. The Vax range now includes upright carpet washers, multi-cyclonic bagless vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, handhelds, air purifiers and much more besides.

Today Vax are still the market-leaders in the UK vacuum industry by volume and their turnover exceeds circa £125 million per annum.

The relationship

Due to multiple new product launches and a continuing drive for growth, Vax approached us to collaborate with them on recruiting for a number of roles. Over the last few months, Heathcote Recruitment Group (formerly ESA Group) have helped the business search for a Product Manager(s) and a CRM Manager to enable Vax to continue dominating the industry.

The focus was to find candidates who were a good fit for the Vax culture. Although the Product roles were niche (and there are very few brands as large as Vax in the area), our senior consultant built a great relationship with the team to get a strong grip on the customer’s requirements.
